During colonial times in America, if you wanted to convince or inform people about some issue that you considered important, you went to the local printer and got some pamphlets printed. You then handed them out, read them to anybody that was interested, nailed them to the town bulletin board, or the nearest tree.
The first amendment was specifically written to protect this type of activity and the writers or "pamphleteers".

Senator John Kerry Wants Book Banned in Boston and All Other Places According to the Drudge Report , Senator Kerry wants UNFIT for COMMAND banned. He has demanded that the publisher pull the book because it is filled with "falsehood". According to the publisher, they have orders for over 500,000 books. (More here.) Just to do our bit to stop this assualt on the First Amendment, here's where you can get the book: Newsmax.com Amazon Barnes and Noble Sorry Senator, part of the Oath of Office for the President of the United States and even lowly Naval officers is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. The First Amendment is part of that Constituiton. Your wanting to ban books reveals a lot about your fitness to be President. |
