The Pamphleteer

During colonial times in America, if you wanted to convince or inform people about some issue that you considered important, you went to the local printer and got some pamphlets printed. You then handed them out, read them to anybody that was interested, nailed them to the town bulletin board, or the nearest tree. The first amendment was specifically written to protect this type of activity and the writers or "pamphleteers".

Summer Fun

Google News has over two thousand items that reference Karl Rove. Depending on the news outlet Karl Rove is in the clear or on his way to a firing squad. What is it about KR that drives his enemies nuts?

Well, for one thing, his enemies are always wrong. Case in point. Yesterday, MoveOn.org held a noisy and well publicized demonstration outside the White House with appropriate chanting and placards. Just one problem, KR was in Indiana with the President. Wrong time, wrong place. Again.

Now the Democrats think they have KR cornered. However, the Democrats need to answer one question:

Why is Judith Miller in jail? No, stow the crap about the 1st Amendment.

Why is Judith Miller in jail? Who is she protecting? It isn't KR or any other Republican. The folks at the NY Times don't give a damn about the Republicans. Also, in their appeal to the Supreme Court, the NY Times and other organizations took the position that no crime had been committed.

So, one more time.

Why is Judith Miller in jail?

While you're pondering that, think of these conundrums:

Why has Joe Wilson backtracked on his statement that is almost two years old, that his wife was under cover? Yesterday, Joe Wilson said at the time of the original story by Robert Novak that his wife was not a covert agent. Why the change after two years?

Also at the time of the original Novak story, Joe Wilson said he wanted to see KR "frogmarched" out of the White House in handcuffs. Out of all of the members of the administration, why mention KR?
