The Pamphleteer |
|
During colonial times in America, if you wanted to convince or inform people about some issue that you considered important, you went to the local printer and got some pamphlets printed. You then handed them out, read them to anybody that was interested, nailed them to the town bulletin board, or the nearest tree.
The first amendment was specifically written to protect this type of activity and the writers or "pamphleteers".

A Letter From President Bush's Campaign Manager Ken Mehlman Dear Patrick, You've Partied for the President, now Walk the Vote! On the weekend of October 16, people will gather in homes all across America to organize the largest door-to-door walk program ever assembled - the Walk the Vote Weekend. We'll identify voters in your area, provide maps to their doors and a flyer to hand out, and ask you and your friends to reach out to your neighbors and turn out the vote. Everything you need to organize your "Walk the Vote" party is available online. Get started here: www.GeorgeWBush.com/Walk Spending a Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon walking around your neighborhood with your friends and family will do more to affect the outcome of this election than almost any other activity. Studies show person-to-person contact is the most effective way to turn out the vote. Will you help us mobilize the largest vote possible for the President? Make no mistake, this is the most important election of our time. Some people say that about every election, but this time it's true. The choice we make on November 2nd will determine how we deal with the gathering threats of terrorism and head them off before they reach our shore. www.GeorgeWBush.com/Walk Once you set up your party, we'll send you all the information you need for your walk. To be sure you receive the information, please check your e-mail regularly in the coming days. Going door-to-door is easy and fun, and will help ensure a victory for the President. Thanks again for all you have done, and all you can do to help the President. Sincerely, Ken Mehlman P.S. On the weekend of October 16, Walk the Vote parties will be held all across America. Tens of thousands of the President's supporters will walk through their neighborhood and turn out the vote. Be a part of this historic effort. Host a Walk the Vote Party in your area.
